The quality award for the first quarter of this year was given to the Lidl Virginia Beach team. The team consists of John Passantino, superintendent; McMahon Croft, project manager; Jacob Dalton, project engineer and Tina Hudson, project assistant.
“The Lidl team has done an excellent job of setting the stage for quality and executing the plan effectively through preconstruction meetings and field inspections,” said Matt Kamstra, quality manager. “The team continues to monitor the project through daily quality inspections and effectively tracking any necessary repairs through completion. They have done an excellent job working together as a team to provide a quality product.”
The team is working on the 32,000-square-foot new construction of a Lidl grocery store in Virginia Beach. Lidl, with 10,000 stores in 27 countries, is opening its first U.S. stores this year.
The Bridges South16 project team took honors with the safety award. The team is made up of Darren Campbell, superintendent; Paul Byrd; superintendent; Theodore Hodges, superintendent; Chris Bryant, project manager; Mike Itzkowitz , project engineer and Liz Blanks, project assistant.
“The Bridges team has exhibited safety excellence since project inception. This team set themselves apart by their impeccable documentation and near flawless execution in the field,” said Mark Lambert, corporate safety manager.
This second phase of The Bridges South16 apartment complex is 132,638 square feet with 127 one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The building consists of four residential floors constructed on an elevated podium slab with a first-floor parking garage. The new living space includes outdoor recreation areas, a swimming pool and a 735-square-foot rooftop viewing deck.
