Through our mentoring, training and trade opportunities we continually surpass local and small business participation requirements on our projects and work to build capacity in these businesses to the benefit of the local economy and our clients.
As a Certified Small Business with the Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise, KBS offers 100% SWAM participation on its construction contracts. Additionally, we have a positive track record in the utilization of SWAM subcontractors on our projects and have reached percentages as high as 63% for some projects. In the past five years, KBS's total awards to SWAM firms and involvement with SWAM joint venture partnerships exceeded $200 million.
