In June of 2003, KBS began demolition on the old building, leaving only the existing floor structure and greenhouses behind.

The next phase of construction involved the building of a new garden center, receiving area, warehouse and corporate office area.

During the final phase of construction, Strange's was open and operating. Special efforts were made to transition the customers during construction as not to inconvenience them. Customers were diverted to an alternate entrance and signs were posted indicating the florist was indeed still open despite construction.
