KBS completed construction on the first new Charles Luck Stone Center adjacent to the Luck Stone Corporation headquarters in Goochland.
The Studio is the main component of the Center and functions as a design center, stone library and stone laboratory. It was created to provide stone construction inspiration and information about stone in a distinctive environment.
The Charles Luck Stone Center has been designed from the ground up to anticipate the needs of various audiences who work with stone: architects, interior designers, homeowners, masons, landscapers and builders.
The Studio itself serves as inspiration: The bathroom features a custom design floor using stones formed with a water-jet cut for a tight fit; the sandstone fireplace complements the surrounding floor demonstrating a stone-planking design; and a stone wall running through the Studio showcases how Pennsylvania sandstone from two quarries can feature a veining effect or a more solid coloring.
KBS is building another, similar center for Luck Stone in Charlotte, North Carolina. KBS is also working on the 60,000-square-foot addition and 26,000-square-foot renovation of existing office space at Luck Stone’s headquarters.
