This mixed-use project includes a four-story mid-rise building comprising 225 one- and two-bedroom apartment units and restaurant and retail spaces combined with five levels of structured parking. A 1940’s Sears warehouse building was selectively demolished down to its concrete structure and adaptively reused as the base of the cast-in-place concrete parking garage.
Two floors of additional cast-in-place concrete structure are atop the existing structure. Four floors of wood-framed residential units are integrated into the structure to completely fill the city block within the downtown Ghent neighborhood. First floor amenity spaces such as a clubhouse and fitness center overlook the central courtyard, which features a swimming pool, fitness center, club room, theatre, simulated golf, conference room, business center and outdoor grille.
The project is located at the intersection of Llewellyn Avenue and 21st Street in Norfolk.
