Link Apartments Manchester is the first multi-residential development in Richmond to be certified to the National Green Building Standard (NGBS) by Home Innovation Research Labs (formerly the NAHB Research Center). The certification is a national third-party verification benchmark of sustainable construction and development.
To achieve NGBS Certification, a builder, developer, or remodeler must incorporate a minimum number of features in these categories: energy, water, and resource efficiency; lot and site development; indoor environmental quality; and resident education. Some of the sustainable features of the project include: design and construction allowing limited environmental impact, Energy Star appliances and lighting and units with individual water and power meters.
The community celebrated its Grand Opening on May 9 during which the certification was officially presented. The event also featured poolside live music and refreshments and remarks by Richmond’s Mayor Dwight C. Jones.
Located in the Old Manchester area, Link Apartments Manchester consists of 187 one- and two-bedroom apartments, totaling approximately 144,537 square feet.
The property is owned by Grubb Properties with Dominion Realty Partners as the development partner. It is designed by Rule Joy Trammel & Rubio and RK&K. Learn more about the development here.
