Congratulations to the 1200 West Marshall project team for their efforts towards safety! The construction team, consisting of Christopher Bryant, George Cramp, Tony Zimmer, Juan Tejada, Jon Reid and Liz Blanks, are the recipients of the “Excellence in Safety” award for the third quarter of 2012.
“With the flurry of activity at this site, winning the safe project award was no easy task. Maintaining safety excellence required a lot of dedicated work from the project team and a lot of field presence,” said Mark Lambert, KBS safety director. The award was presented by Lambert and Rich Lee, vice president of operations.
Specific criteria were established before the initiative began for the project to be eligible for the award, and the project team’s safety management and oversight has earned them recognition. Lambert added that “jobsite safety does not start and end in the field” and that an “often overlooked aspect of safety relates to the importance of a good training documentation trail.” Fortunately for the team and all subcontractors performing work at 1200 West Marshal, no OSHA Recordable or First Aid injuries resulted during the construction of this high-profile project located at West Marshall and Harrison Streets just behind the VCU Siegel Center.
